The virtual search for Mr. and Ms. CAS 2021 is in progress as the Council of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLASS) department tests and filters potential in pursuit of finding enthusiastic and compelling representatives coming from different degree programs who will take the stage on September 24, 2021, at exactly 7 PM via CLASS Facebook live.
Headed by event Chairperson Hon. John Dexter Megio and CLASS Governor John
Peter Apuhin, much deliberation will come into play in knowing who will comprise the official 11 candidates from the male and female category. The application period of the pageant will officially end on September 5, and as of August 31, nine candidates have successfully registered via Google Form.
“This pageant will be the most difficult one to pull off in terms of preparations since we have to gather participants and prepare the possible recorded videos in a virtual setup. But even though we are in a virtual setting, we prepared a lot to make this pageant more memorable and successful”, CLASS Governor John Peter Apuhin said in a message interview.
The segments will include production number, runway, evening gown, and formal wear. Candidates will be given an opportunity to have a speech regarding their advocacy and will be intellectually challenged through the Q and A portion. In line with the current restrictions, candidates are required to do their shoots at home as the pageant is to be done virtually. To realize this event, the council is now starting to look for sponsors who will help in pursuing the challenges in store for our soon to be announced candidates.
The reigning Mr. CAS, Mr. Kim Matthew Abapo, and the reigning Ms. CAS, Miss Alekka Kwensley Cabalhug, will also have a special part in the coronation night this 24th of September as they will be invited to turn over the crowns.
