Osmeña Day

In honor of the late President Sergio S. Osmeña, Cebu memorializes his 143rd Birth Anniversary at the historical marker on Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.

Proclamation No. 97, s. 1966 declares September 9, 1966 as a special public holiday in Cebu Province and in the cities of Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu and Toledo. This marks the birthday of the late President Sergio Osmeña, Sr., second President of the Commonwealth, patriot, statesman and staunch advocate of nationalism and Philippine Independence.
